The project incorporates ecological transition, social cohesion, Research & Development and digitalisation.

The Green & Human team will launch an informative campaign to encourage more companies in the industry to join the project.

The Jumbo Tours and AMResorts have joined forces to create the Green & Human Consortium, a project that seeks the sustainable transformation of tourist destinations on an environmental and social level. Aligning them with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 AgendaWith the use of technology, it will promote management, evaluation and measurement of the Corporate Sustainability Plans promoting the best practices among them.

The partnership will be co-led by Jumbo Tours and AMResorts Management Spainthe backbones and driving force of this projectBiosphere Responsible Tourism will specialise idefining the tourism standards, providing the digital platform and taking charge of its Research and Development.

In addition, a wide range of companies from the value chain will coexist in the fellowship.

Green & Human is a living and progressive projecteligible for funds from the European Union’s Next Generation Recovery and Transformation.

The MDI (Demonstration of Interests) presented on 20 January is made up of a total of 12 companies representing each of the tourism sub-sectors (accommodation, distribution, transport, leisure and catering). This demonstrates the resilience and viability of the model to accommodate all types of organisations, regardless of their size or activity.

The ultimate goal is to obtain broad representation of destination businesses so that they can be the driving force towards full sustainability.

Launching in the Balearic and Canary Islands

Initially, the pilot is planned for the Balearic and Canary Islands, but can be extrapolated to all tourist destinations in Spain. The aim is to position Spain as a tourist hub with the added value of sustainability.

The aim of this project is to democratise the potential of these funds to the maximum with the companies from the industry. Especially SMEs, who by themselves would not be able to access these grants and in essence, make up the complementary offer that provides differential content to tourist destinations.

In the coming days, the Green & Human team will start an informative campaign to encourage more companies in the industry to join the project. They will be facilitating their participation by supporting them in the transformation of their destinations with the support of the Next Generation funds.
