We’re already halfway through the year, however those of you who love unique experiences, know that the best has yet to come. From the moment summer started until 2019 comes to an end, the calendar is packed full of luxury events. Being able to enjoy these experiences is a rare opportunity – and in some cases, a unique one – which in itself is reason enough to plan ahead so that nothing prevents your clients from missing out.
It is essential to plan ahead and book tickets, accommodation and transport for these events as soon as possible, otherwise you may have to leave it until the next opportunity arises. Furthermore, arranging the entire experience with time to spare ensures you get the best prices, yet another great reason to be forward-thinking and ahead of the game. Here are some of the highlights of 2019.
- Sporting events. Only a few weeks ago there were a few important matches, such as the UEFA Final, but there are still plenty more sporting events on our calendar. Among them, the Tour de France, which is held from 6 to 28 July; the Basketball World Cup, which this year is being held in China during the first half of September; the famous Berlin Marathon, taking place on 29 September; and the Davis Cup, the final of which can be seen at the Caja Mágica in Madrid in November.
- Cinema, theatre and art. This year, the Prado Museum is celebrating 200 years since opening its doors for the first time. It did so on 19 November 1819, and in celebration of this, the museum has organised various exhibitions, including the commonly named ‘Confluences: Velázquez, Rembrandt, Vermeer and the Spanish and Dutch Golden Centuries’, from 25 June to 29 September, and ‘Sólo la voluntad me sobra. Dibujos de Goya’, which will take place from 19 November to 16 February 2020. Other interesting events include the Venice Film Festival (August 28 to September 7) and the San Sebastian Film Festival (September 20 to 28), as well as the well-known Edinburgh Film Festival (August 2 to 26).
- Festivals. The Buñuel tomato throwing festival (28 August), the Day of the Dead in Mexico (2 November), the Munich Oktoberfest (21 September to 6 October), the Diwali festival in India (27 October) … The calendar is bursting with traditional festivals all over the world, some so special that they welcome tens of thousands of visitors every year. They are the perfect way to experience the local culture of the area.
- Concerts. As for concerts, everyone has their own idols, and seeing them perform live on stage is not always possible. This year, fans of Elton John, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bon Jovi and Michael Bubblé are in luck as they will be performing in Madrid. Bruno Mars will be in Las Vegas in September, as will Lady Gaga, except that this artiste will set foot on the stages of Las Vegas the month after.
