Jumbo, the global DMC of Alpitour World, has activated its operations linked to the new direct connection between Montreal and Palma de Mallorca. The first flight landed at Palma Airport on the morning of June 18, marking the start of a twice-weekly service operating until October. The route, operated by Air Canada, strengthens connectivity between Canada and the Balearic Islands amid growing demand for the destination and reinforces the strategic collaboration with Air Canada Vacations in Mallorca.
The arrival of this inaugural flight included not only airline passengers but also participants in a FAM trip organized to mark the route launch, as well as Air Canada Vacations customers who benefited from transfer services managed by Jumbo. In this context, the company acts as the official DMC at destination, coordinating ground operations and providing local expertise to ensure a seamless experience from arrival onwards.
The launch of this connection reflects the increasing interest of the Canadian market in the Balearic Islands, a destination that continues to gain relevance in international programming. The combination of improved air connectivity and on-the-ground destination management facilitates access to Mallorca for this traveler profile. In this regard, Nino Montagnese, Vice President of Air Canada Vacations, highlighted: “Working with a destination-based DMC partner like Jumbo is incredibly valuable for Air Canada Vacations. Their local expertise helps us deliver consistent, high-quality experiences for our customers, especially on new routes like Mallorca. Having Jumbo on the ground ensures that our guests are well taken care of, and that every aspect of the trip runs smoothly. We truly appreciate their commitment and collaboration, which makes all the difference in creating unforgettable travel memories.”

“For us, this new operation represents a significant step forward in our relationship with Air Canada Vacations. We are grateful for the trust placed in our teams and approach this collaboration with the commitment to continue adding value through our operational capabilities in Mallorca,” said Gabriel Fiol, Global Commercial & Marketing Director at Jumbo.
The development of new routes and the integration of destination-based solutions are part of the ongoing evolution of inbound tourism, where Jumbo adapts its operations to the transformation of international demand, while maintaining the consistency and service quality that define its activity across all markets.
